Q?Do you help families prevent illness?
A.

Yes.  Besides treating illness, we encourage families to act on what research has shown to prevent child illness.  We encourage breast-feeding, exercise, eating high fiber diet with fruits and vegetables, using bicycle helmets, car seats and seat belts.  We recommend no smoking, drug use, high-fat diet or inappropriate sexual activity.

Q?Who are the patients?
A.

All children and adolescents from birth to 18 years of age.

Q?What hours are you open?
A.

Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. till 6 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. till noon
Sundays: Closed

Q?How can I reach the doctor at night?
A.

Just call the office phone number: 785-234-4624  It is answered 24-hours a day.

Q?What should I bring to the office?
A.
  1. Child’s vaccination card
  2. Insurance card
  3. List of current medications
  4. Any co-pay for your insurance
Q?What if I can’t keep my appointment?
A.

Call at least 24 hours before the appointment.  A missed appointment or being late leads to a discharge from the practice.

Q?How do I get a prescription refill?
A.

You may call during office hours only to order a refill.

Q?What kind of insurance can I have?
A.

We take almost all kinds of insurance, including Medicaid.

Q?Are the doctors and nurse practitioner board-certified?
A.

Yes!  All of our doctors are board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and our physician assistant is registered.

Q?What if I don’t have insurance?
A.

We know lots of people change or lose insurance every year.  Please let us know if we can help you get insurance or if you need to pay with installments.

Q?Is your care expensive?
A.

Our charges are average for the Topeka area.  Our goal is to give top quality medical care while helping to control costs.  Whenever possible we use generic drugs.  Please tell us if you have special needs.
